I feel that the two subjects combine well with one another and on many occasions I have founds that my knowledge of one has helped me with the other. Studying Maths and Business has also provided me with logic and a greater understanding of various concepts and methods. I have become more flexible in identifying what concepts need to be used and when, thus, helping me to achieve the greatest results possible. I have the ability to pick up skills and knowledge quickly and am independent enough to conduct my own study and research. My main ambition for the future is to become an Accountant Executive or Chartered Accountant. I am hoping the course I do will provide me with an understanding of the accounts world as well as offering me a wide range of choices and connections after my course. After studying Diploma in Accounting, I decided to take a step further and study for Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance under University of London, UK at SIM. I believe that studying a degree in accounting and finance will help me to progress with my career. I have previous experience in an accounting environment where my position was as an assistant admin and simultaneous a tuition tutor. During my time with the company, I have gained an award for my doing work performance. My job role involves cash handling, serving customers, dealing with parents’ enquires and complaints, both in person and over the phone as well as teaching. Working so closely with the public has increased my confidence, and my interpersonal skills as well as giving me an insight into how businesses, especially the retail business, work. I have not only learnt some skills in teaching but also putting into practice ways of increasing sales and profits at the tuition centre. I love to play sport whenever I can as it fills me with great enjoyment. I hope to continue being involved in sports at SIM by joining the sport clubs that are available because playing sport provides me with a good balance in my life between leisure and work which allows me to produce my best results academically. I plan to keep this balance at institute. Most of my spare time, I enjoy listening to different kinds of music and to help myself relax and take my mind of things, I like reading magazines and solving logical problems such as Sudoku. I also like going out with family and friends at least once a week. As an individual, I have always aspired to higher education at institute as I have a positive and committed attitude to learning new things. The idea of moving on from school life and taking on the challenge of a degree course provides me with motivation and determination to succeed. From studying at institute, I intend to develop my personal characteristics and skills and learn to apply the knowledge I gain to pursue a career in an accounting or financial profession. I know that I have the right amount of interest in Accountancy as a subject and the potential for success in order to achieve what I want.
